Mimi Hair

 

I began my journey in the hair industry 40 years ago, at 13 after being trained in the West end in salons such as Vidal Sassoon, Toni and Guy , Robert fielding, Andre Bernard. I then moved onto teach hairdressing privately for those who have wanted to learn skills and direction in the hair industry working with loreal, Wella , Paul Mitchel products.

 

I work with Balmain, and have been creating luxurious hair styles with hair extensions for 20 years, Fortunately I  have also worked with a celebrity clientele in west end and Hampstead, creating looks for TV and film. 

 

I have always been so interested and sympathetic towards health, wellbeing and medical issues. After I qualified as a therapist and coach in 2000 I began to further my interest and studied behaviour and working with the elderly and disabilities. I noticed sadly that their needs were not being met in the capacity it should be. I am now so passionate about caring and looking after people with vulnerabilities. 


I decided to specialise in hairdressing for the elderly. This has snow balled and I have been approached to provide services to our ageing and vulnerable in our community. I was approached by a residential home, where I have a salon running for the residents and outside community. I can now offer a service which extends to visits at the home of the client , when getting out is a problem for them. 

 

Proudly a service provider for various care centres and treatment facilities for the elderly and vulnerable such as Age UK and the Alzheimer's society. 


What makes this service special is not only do I love my work and working with these people, but I am experienced and qualified working with the  vulnerable and Medical issues, dementia and elderly. 

Which is so important when you need rapport, patience , understanding, and a caring passionate attitude. 


I find my service improves the wellbeing of my clients . As their appearance improves and they have a hairdressing visit to look forward to!

It is so important for our ageing families and friends, neighbours and community to still have interaction with services that offer wellbeing and grooming. Making a world of difference to them! My clients with dementia always love to get their hair and nails done as they remember how it makes them feel, and they remember the feeling. 

 

I travel around the borough of Richmond and Kingston and surrounding areas In Surrey, visiting those who are housebound at home and those in retirement homes and residential care facilities. 

 

I also still work as a freelance hairdresser in my salon providing 5 star treatments to my clientele. *****  

 

Carers and family are welcome to visit me at both salons, where a reduced rate will be offered. 

 

It is my aim and passion to provide a luxury service to my clients and to improve the lives of the Elderly and Those with Disabilities or medical conditions.
